The Suul are a race of minotaurs inhabiting Carrick. Their most remarkable characteristics are their strong, robust bodies, their brutality and their highly violent temper.

Origins

In the late 9th Century, when the Doraks and the Lim'tar had already left Ektyaar, only the Hurs and the Suul remained in the island. Both populations were needing more and more territoy each time.

The semi-nomadic Suul needed large portions of terrain for their livestock and to grow crops; and the Hurs needed the terrain for their extensive cities to develop. The Hurs soon declared war to the Suul, claiming the whole island of Ektyaar.

The Suul were at disadvantage because of their temporary (and as such), poorly defended settlements. The Hurs, by the side, were better organized, had fortified cities and had well-made weapons. The bloody war lasted nearly 15 years. Some Suul fled to the cold north of the Cardiro continent, where the modern nation of Elthestern is located. In the middle of 911 SC, the war ended and the Suul were defeated. King Rowgilth II of Braubgallie ordered the Suul to leave Ektyaar. The Suul were given boats and navigated to reach the coasts of the Baltor Highlands, where they subsequently founded the nation of Roventry.

Religion

Because of their violent temper, the Suul are usually rejected from religious groups. However, a vast majority of them prefer to live without believing in any supernatural or omnipotent force. The few religious Suul follow Mirvanism, altough monotheistic, the main and largest branch of Valgarism.

Physical Characteristics

The Suul feature a much tougher build than Hurs. Their muscles grant them a great strengh and endurance, but also makes them slower.

Their heads and lower legs resemble those of a bull; they are provided of hooves instead of feet. Their legs are divided in three parts by two joints: a knee and a hock. Male Suul are provided with three large horns protruding from the skull, in the forehead, being unexistant on females. Suul also have long tails at the end of their backbones.

Their whole body is covered by a thin, usually dark, fur. The fur gets thicker around the neck and forms something similar to a mane.
